Unigrains sells Céréa Partenaire management business
Unigrains has agreed to sell its agriculture investment business Céréa Partenaire to the management team.
The management team of Céréa has taken a majority share alongside France-based institutional investors who are LPs in the business's funds.
The GP already operated independently of Unigrains, but will now have further financial independence.
Unigrains has agreed to support the GP in the future by acting as an LP in future funds or as a co-investor. Previously, Unigrains has continuously acted as an LP for the company's funds, contributing 20% of Céréa's total raised capital of €1.4bn.
Céréa was founded in 2004 by Unigrains and operates three lines of business: buyouts, mezzanine and senior debt. The company focuses on agriculture businesses and has participated in 120 transactions, according to a statement. Based in Paris, the company currently employs 26 people.
