
ESG due diligence gains ground in France
The amount of ESG due diligence undertaken ahead of and during sale processes involving PE has risen in France, according to an annual report publish by France Invest in partnership with Deloitte.
The report finds that a total of 912 ESG due diligence mandates were undertaken during processes in 2018 - double the number recorded in 2017. The number of ESG due diligences conducted ahead of sale processes quadrupled during the same period, with 88 recorded for 2018.
More firms have discussed corporate social responsibility at least once in their supervisory board or board of directors meetings in the past year, according to the report.
Around 40% of the members of France Invest, amounting to 129 firms, took part in the 2018 ESG survey. which can be read in full here.
