Squire Patton Boggs hires senior partner to Paris office
Law firm Squire Patton Boggs has appointed Maxime Dequesne as senior partner in its corporate practice team in Paris to support the firm’s growth in France.
In his new role, Dequesne will enhance the firm's private equity practice, aiming to set it apart as a market leader in Paris, according to a press release.
Dequesne joins Squire Patton Boggs from French private equity boutique Lamartine Conseil, where he was a partner. Prior to that he worked at De Pardieu and SJ Berwin/KWM.
He generally represents a range of French mid-market funds, advising across the private equity life cycle, including original fund investments, bolt on acquisitions for portfolio companies and exits for the shareholders and managers. Moreover, he acts for a number of large corporates on complex transactional matters, according to the same press release.
Dequesne's appointment constitutes a step forward in the roll-out of Squire Patton Boggs' private equity business strategy, which encompasses in the development of its practice France, Spain, Italy, the UK and other locations.
The move follows the hires earlier this month of private equity partner Anthony Guillaume, who joined from DLA, and acquisition leverage finance partner Benjamin Marché, who joined from Shearman & Sterling.
