Cathay reinforces PE team with a 14th partner for Paris office
Cathay Capital has appointed Jean-Marc Prunet as a partner in its Paris office, bringing the number of partners in the GP’s French team to 14.
The firm's French team has 60 members, according to its website.
Cathay Capital, which has USD 5bn AUM, plans to capitalise on Prunet's expertise in the industrial, supply, media and technology sectors, according to a press statement.
"Experienced both as an investor and entrepreneur", as highlighted in a press release by managing partner at Cathay, Bruno Bézard, Prunet joins from Somfy, a France-based producer of controllers and drives for entrance gates, garage doors, blinds and awnings manufacturer. He had worked for the last six years, according to his LinkedIn profile.
Prior to his time at Somfy, Prunet worked for banking firm Rothschild & Cie and private equity sponsors Eurazeo and Fondations Capital during his 20-year career, according to the press release.
Fellow France-based Cathay partner Fabien Wesse told this news service last month that Cathay aims to hold a EUR 250m-EUR 350m final close for its Small Cap Fund IV in early 2023. The vehicle, which has already collected EUR 230m, will mainly target the US and Europe (France and Germany), but also China and Southeast Asia.
Cathay's French private equity team is currently working towards exiting financial software expert NeoXam alongside co-investor Bpifrance, as reported.
