Techfund et al. invest €2.5m in Polyplus
Techfund Capital Europe several and several CIC investment arms have provided French biotech company Polyplus-transfection with €2.5m of funding.
Techfund Capital Europe invested €1m through its €13.8m AIRFI fund, while Sudinnova – an investment company of CIC Banque de Vizile – provided €500,000. Existing investors CIC Vizille Capital Innovation and CIC Finance invested the remainder of the round.
Popyplus will use the fresh funds to bolster its R&D efforts, notably by hiring up to 10 new researchers and scientists.
Founded in 2001, Strasbourg-based Polyplus-transfection is a biotechnology company focusing on nucleic acid transfer solutions. It currently employs 30 people and generates revenues.
