Idinvest acquires stake in VC firm KLS
Idinvest Partners has acquired a stake in Kurma Life Sciences Partners (KLS) from the private equity arm of Natixis bank.
Alongside Idinvest's acquisition, KLS's own management team has increased its equity commitment in the company.
Paris-based KLS was founded in 2010 by two former Idinvest employees, Rémi Droller and Thierry Laugel. Laugel and Droller continued working with Idinvest following the split by advising the firm on investments in the healthcare sector.
KLS recently launched its second vehicle, Kurma Biofund II, with a €75m target. Last month the firm held a first close for the fund, having raised €44m. The fund is sponsored by Idinvest, as well as CDC Enterprises, New Enterprise Associates and GlaxoSmithKline.
Droller and Laugel are managing partners at KLS.
