Aster Capital to reduce fund target
French corporate-backed venture capital firm Aster is said to be aiming for a €105m final close for its second fund, down from an initial €120m target.
The fund initially had a hard-cap of €150m but is now looking to hold a final close in mid-October at €105m, according to reports. The fund held its first close on €85m in June.
Backers include Schneider Electric, Alstom and SolvayRhodia. The fund will invest in environmental start-ups, including those working in the fields of human comfort and security, and sustainable management of resources and emissions.
Aster has already made investments from the fund in companies including Ioxus and Avantium.
