Dechert makes new hires for Paris branch
Law firm Dechert has appointed Matthieu Grollemund as a partner in its Paris office, alongside new associate Hélène Parent.
Grollemund, who specialises in private equity LBOs, joins Dechert from Orrick Herrington & Suttcliffe, where he has been a partner since 2009. Parent also joins Dechert from Orrick.
Previous clients of Grollemund's include 3i France, Accel and Index. Grollemund has also advised on special and insolvency situations for French creditors and debtors. He recently advised French game publisher Atari through its insolvency.
His role at Dechert will include responsibilities such as advising the firm's French clients on inbound and outbound transactions.
Dechert, which also operates an office in London, recently provided legal and tax advice for Berlin-based app developer Motain, when the company received €10m in a series-A round led by Earlybird Venture Capital in April.
Prior to this, Dechert provided legal advice to French e-commerce operator Greenweez for the company's €3m funding round in February, according to unquote" data. Promeleys Participations and A Plus Finance contributed to the round.
The law firm also acts as legal adviser to the Montefiore Investment III fund, managed by French mid-cap player Montefiore Investment. The fund was launched in May 2012 and held its first close last September.
