Axa Private Equity appoints managing director

Axa Private Equity has appointed Juan Angoitia as managing director in the infrastructure team.
The new hire will be based in the firm's Paris office. He has 15 years' experience in the infrastructure industry and joins from Citi Infrastructure, where he spent five years as an investment principal in London.
While at Citi, Angoitia managed the company's investments in Kelda, a holding company of Yorkshire Water in the UK, and in Spain-based Itinere Infraestructuras.
Prior to that, Angoitia spent 10 years at Grupo Ferrovial, a transport, urban and services infrastructure firm in Spain. He began his career at Cintra as part of the toll management team in Chile, before moving to Sydney to manage the company's investment in Sydney International Airport.
Angoitia will work alongside Mathias Burghardt, head of infrastructure at Axa PE.
The infrastructure team manages assets worth $4bn. Earlier this year, the firm raised a €1.75bn fund for investments in the asset class. It has already completed substantial transactions, including the acquisition of Luton Airport alongside Spanish airport operator Aena.
