Founder Jean-Marie Lavirotte leaves Perfectis
Jean-Marie Lavirotte, one of the co-founders of French mid-cap firm Perfectis Private Equity, has left the business, unquote" has learned.
Lavirotte stated he will remain involved in the private equity space, although no specific plans have been mentioned.
He co-founded Perfectis Private Equity in 2000 with his former 3i colleague Gabriel Fossorier, who remains in place at the GP. Perfectis raised a maiden €80m fund, before closing a second vehicle on €122m in 2006. Perfectis went back on the fundraising trail at the end of 2008 but had to back down due to the adverse market conditions.
Industrial holding HLD bought a stake in Perfectis from credit insurer group Euler Hermes France in 2012, alongside the Perfectis management team. Euler Hermes remained invested in the Perfectis I and II funds.
The change of ownership allowed Perfectis to keep operating – the GP was left unable to make new investments after it had to halt fundraising for its third fund in 2009. At the time of the 2012 deal, HLD was willing to sponsor Perfectis III, if and when the fund goes back to market.
