Sperian shareholder challenges Cinven takeover
The third largest shareholder in Sperian Protection, Investment Fund Governance for Owners, has called into question the benefits of the planned takeover for the minority shareholder.
Investment Fund Governance for Owners, is believed to hold approximately 10% of the firm.
Cinven take private's takeover bid was supported by the two largest shareholders Essilor and Mrs Ginette Dalloz, who respectively own 15.05% and 13.212% of the business. The purchase agreement, through holding company Menelas, values each share at €70 and the company at €766m including debt.
Sperian is a producer of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as the eyewear safety brand Uvex.
