Atlas Venture et al. sell shares in Priceminister
Japanese e-commerce specialist Rakuten has acquired a 100% stake in the Priceminister group from Atlas Venture, Phillimore, Technocap, Quilvest and individual shareholders.
The transaction has been performed through Rakuten's European branch and is valued at around €200m. Private equity funds owned around 20% of the company prior to the sale.
Founded in 2001, Priceminister has become one of France's leading online marketplace e-commerce service. Since then, the group has expanded with several acquisitions and today comprises www.priceminister.com, travel price comparison website www.voyagermoinscher.com and real-estate platform www.avendrealouer.fr. among other specialist websites.
