Pragma Capital acquires IMV Technologies from OFI Private Equity
Pragma Capital has acquired French biotechnology company IMV Technologies from OFI Private Equity (OPEC).
The exit provided OPEC with €39m in cash; the firm will reinvest €5m to retain a 11% stake in the business. OPEC took IMV Technologies private in 2007 for €31.1m; under its ownership, the company performed four bolt-on operations, increased its presence in emerging countries and opened a new industrial site. OPEC reaped 2.5x its original investment, equating to a 30% IRR.
Established in 1963 and headquartered in Aigle, Normandy, IMV Technologies designs, manufactures and sells products used in the artificial insemination of several animal species. The company posted a €44.4m turnover for 2009, 80% of which was generated outside of France.
