AFIC appoints Louis Godron as chairman

French private equity association AFIC has elected Argos Soditic partner Louis Godron as its new chairman.
The chairman's mandate will run for two years. Godron was already the president of AFIC's LBO committee since 2010, as well as a board member and treasurer of the association since 2011.
He takes over from Hervé Schricke, who was elected as chairman in June 2010.
Godron laid out his goals for the coming months in a statement: "My mandate will be guided by the necessity to channel long-term savings towards the financing of businesses and innovation, to expand internationally, and to keep explaining what we do as responsible and socially beneficial actors."
In addition, AFIC chose to change its name in an effort to highlight the positive role of private equity in the economy: the trade body will now be known as the Association Française des Investisseurs pour la Croissance (French Association of Investors for Growth) as opposed to Association Française des Investisseurs en Capital (French Association of Investors in Capital).
