EdRip hires new life sciences partner
Edmond de Rotschild Investment Partners (EdRip) has hired Dr Naveed Siddiqi as a partner in charge of the firm's Biodiscovery venture capital funds.
Siddiqi's career spans the fields of medicine, investment banking and venture capital. He was most recently a partner at Phase4 Ventures, a GP focused on life sciences investments. Saddiqi was originally part of Nomura's healthcare investment business, which later span out to become Phase4.
Prior to this, Saddiqi worked for EFG Corporate Finance, KPMG and the UK's National Health Service. He holds a degree in medicine from Guy's & St Thomas's Hospital Medical School in London and has an accountancy degree from the Institute of Chartered Accountants for England & Wales (ICAEW).
EdRip held the final close of its fourth life sciences fund, BioDiscovery 4, on €192m in November last year. The fund's predecessor, BioDiscovery 3, was raised in a far shorter timescale, having launched in February 2008 and closed in May the same year on €150m.
