Daniel Balmisse joins Cathay Capital as COO
Cathay Capital Private Equity has appointed former BPI France director Daniel Balmisse as chief operating officer.
Balmisse joins from BPI France, where he was executive director and member of the executive committee. He will start his new role in July 2016, contributing to the firm's investments, operations, investor relations and overall strategy, in all the market segments and geographic regions the firm covers.
Prior to spending three years at BPI France, Balmisse held the role of CEO for venture capital fund-of-fund activities at CDC Entreprises, where he developed a portfolio of more than 300 funds, totalling €5bn under management.
Cathay was founded in 2006 and is based in Paris, with additional offices in Shanghai, Beijing, New York, San Francisco and Munich.
Cathay adopts a generalist approach, investing across all stages and sectors. It has €1.2bn in assets under management and recently closed its €500m Sino French mid-cap fund, launched in June 2014.
