Montefiore in €20m round for MisterFly
French online travel agency MisterFly has raised €20m in its first round of institutional funding, led by French private equity firm Montefiore Investment.
In the transaction, Montefiore partnered with French e-commerce retail company Vente-Privee. The latter had taken a minority stake in the startup in 2015.
Founders Nicolas Brumelot and Carlos Da Silva retain control of the business with a majority stake, while Montefiore's share will amount to around 28% and Vente-Privee's to 20%.
The transaction comes just nine months after the company was launched, and two months after it merged with fellow online travel brand H-Resa, specialised in hotel bookings.
Proceeds will be used to boost the startup's growth, making a number of targeted acquisitions in both B2C and B2B travel sectors. The founders hope the platform will reach €100m revenue within its first year of activity.
