Omnes sells stake in Valorem to 3i in €57m deal
3i Infrastructure has acquired a stake in French renewable energy business Valorem for €57m from Omnes Capital and others.
3i bought a 28.5% share from Omnes' vehicle FCPR Capenergie and other minority shareholders. 3i also committed to invest a further €12m over the next three years with an intention to increase the company's owned installed capacity.
Previous funding
In 2007, Omnes, then known as Crédit Agricole Private Equity, invested €7.5m in Valorem, alongside Avenir Entreprises (€2m) and regional fund Grand Sud Ouest Capital (€1m).
The three returned for a €16m second round investment in Valorem in September 2008. It saw Crédit Agricole invest €10m from its Capenergie fund. Avenir and Grand Sud Ouest Capital provided €1.5m, and the remaining €4.5m came from the management and employees.
Company
Valorem was founded in 1994 and is based in Bègles. It is a renewable energy operator that develops renewable energy projects for its own account and on behalf of third parties.
Its services include technical assistance and development, engineering, construction and operation and maintenance. The company develops onshore wind farms and photovoltaic systems in France and other countries.
