Vatel Capital launches Kallisté Capital n°9
Paris-based investment firm Vatel Capital has launched Kallisté Capital n°9, a fund focusing exclusively on Corsican SMEs.
The fund is a Fonds d'investissement de proximité (FIP), or local investment fund. Since 2008, Vatel has dedicated its Kallisté Capital funds to investments in Corsica, with 50 investments already completed in the region.
The fund's lifespan is eight years, with a one-year one-time extension option.
Investors
The minimum commitment for private investors is €1,000. Private investors committing to Kallisté get a reduction on their income tax, equivalent to 38% of their investment, capped at €12,000 for single investors and at €24,000 for married couples.
Private investors in the fund mainly include company managers, accountants, lawyers and asset management specialists.
Investments
Continuing the strategy established with the fund's eight previous generations, Kallisté will be investing equity tickets within the €500,000-2.5m range, taking stakes of at least 70% in around 15 exclusively Corsican SMEs, through buyout or growth capital transactions.
The fund targets growing sectors of activity in Corsica, including healthcare, renewable energy, tourism and business support services.
