Omnes reaps 5x in Nomios exit to Waterland's Infradata
Omnes Capital and Odyssee Ventures have sold their stakes in French IT security group Nomios to Infradata, a company owned by Waterland Private Equity.
Founding director Sebastien Kher and the company's management remain invested in the group.
With Omnes and Odyssee's backing, which both backed the group in 2013, the company doubled in size and focused on enlarging its customer base. In 2015, the company generated sales of €31m, compared to a reported €15.4m in 2012. It has 71 employees, 75% of whom are engineers, and 300 active clients in the banking, insurance, services, internet, manufacturing, media and public sectors, among others.
According to Omnes, the disposal will enable it to reap a 5x return. The deal will be finalised in a few weeks, and follows the recent divestment of Simp, through which the GP reaped a 4.7x return in a trade sale to Baring Private Equity Asia-owned HCP Packaging.
After the sale, the LCL Expansion and Omnes Expansion investment vehicles will have achieved a DPI of 1.1x, Omnes said in a statement. Each vehicle will still have another nine investments in their respective portfolios.
Previous funding
In 2013, Omnes and Odyssee supported the management buyout of Nomios, investing alongside founding director Sebastien Kher and key company executives.
In 2015, Waterland supported the management buyout of Infradata. The company's founder and CEO previously owned an 85% stake in the group, with the balance belonging to another shareholder. As part of the deal, the founder and minority shareholder reinvested in the group, reducing their respective stakes in the group to 32.5% and 7.5%. Waterland acquired 54.4%, while company management took the remaining 5.6%.
