Aquiline sells Bisam Technologies for $205.2m
New York-based buyout firm Aquiline Capital Partners has sold portfolio analytic software company Bisam technologies in a trade sale to Factset for $205.2m.
Aquiline Capital Partners are the majority equity holder following a buyout in 2012, along with company insiders who hold minority stakes.
The acquirer is a financial information and data provider, and will expand its service to cover the whole portfolio lifecycle by integrating Bisam products into its offering. The company took a $575m revolving credit facility to fund the transaction and repay existing debt.
Previous funding
In May 2006, Galileo Partners and Alven Capital invested €5m in Bisam to be used for product development. The majority stake was then acquired by Aquiline in 2012 for an undisclosed amount, representing a final exit for Alven.
Company
Founded in 2000, Bisam is a French software company that develops and maintains portfolio analytics tools for asset managers. The company is based in Paris and has offices in London, Sofia, Boston and New York. Bisam posted annual revenues of more than $28m in December 2016.
