NextStage acquires NaturaBuy
NextStage has acquired outdoor, fishing and hunting equipment retailer NaturaBuy, taking over from previous owner Mondadori France.
Publishing house Mondadori originally acquired a 60% stake in NaturaBuy in 2012 – a stake that it further increased to 100% in the following years. Mondadori has now fully exited the group, having sold all shares to the new investors.
NextStage acted as lead investor in the round, co-investing alongside another fund managed by NextStage Asset Management, the GP said in a statement. Together, they invested €10.3m, including €200,000 from LO Capital, the investment arm of digital advertising agency Effilab.
NaturaBuy CEO Olivier Occelli and CTO Olivier Maury will retain their positions. Dominique Papin, technical operations manager since 2012, and Antoine Freysz, co-founder, also invested alongside NextStage.
According to the group, NaturaBuy tripled in size over the last four years, with turnover growing from €800,000 to €2.6m, and EBITDA reaching €1.5m. With NextStage, the group will now look to expand its platform in France and abroad, and to grow its team over the next year.
