Amundi takes minority stake in Groupe Bernadet
Amundi Private Equity has acquired a minority stake in Groupe Bernardet, a French manufacturer of construction and precast concrete products.
Amundi is taking over from previous investor Siparex, which first invested in Bernadet in 2007. Amundi is acquiring a minority stake of an undisclosed amount in the business, while company CEO Laurent Bernadet retains a controlling stake.
In late 2016, Amundi announced the launch of a new €250m European investment programme targeting non-listed European SMEs benefiting from at least one of five "mega-trends": technology, demographics, globalisation, the environment and societal changes. The programme focuses on deals with an average value between €10-35m, aiming for a gross IRR of 20% per transaction.
Previous funding
In 2007, Siparex provided an expansion round of an undisclosed amount to Bernadet. The GP invested from its €205m Siparex Middle Market II fund. The funding was mainly dedicated to organic growth.
Company
Founded in 1931 by Roger Bernadet, Groupe Bernadet is a manufacturer of construction and precast concrete products. Headquartered in Grenade-sur-l'Adour, the company recently generated €72m in revenues and employs 400 people.
