
Abénex Capital acquires Groupe Square in MBO
Abénex Capital and president Jérôme Boucheron have acquired Groupe Square, a French business consulting company.
The value of the transaction was not disclosed; however, according to unquote" data, Abénex invests between €15-60m per ticket.
The GP's most recent fund (Abénex V) was launched in 2014 with a target of €400m. According to unquote" data, the GP invests a maximum of 15% of the total fund in a particular deal and targets French companies with enterprise values of between €50-300m.
The French competition authority is currently reviewing the transaction.

Groupe Square was founded in 2008 and is headquartered in Paris, with offices in Brussels, Geneva and Luxembourg. It provides advisory services including corporate strategy, regulatory and compliance advice, marketing strategy and data intelligence.
The company generates revenues of €83.4m with annual growth of 13%, according to its website, and employs 500 staff.
