BPI France and French armed forces ministry launch fund
The French armed forces ministry and BPI France have launched Definvest, an investment fund with an initial allocation of €50m, to support the development of defense-focused SMEs.
BPI France and the Direction Générale de l'Armement (DGA), the French government defense procurement and technology agency, will manage the funding process.
BPI France and DGA are already selecting candidates for early investments in early 2018.
BPI France stated that the French defense industry currently counts around 10 large groups and 4,000 SMEs, employing around 200,000 people in total.
