Gimv buys Agrobiothers
Belgian GP Gimv has acquired a majority stake in French pet accessory manufacturer Agrobiothers for an undisclosed sum.
The Jenoudet family will reinvest in the new company in return for a significant minority stake. The family, which founded the business, will also remain at the helm of the group operationally.
Agrobiothers has quadrupled its turnover to €65m over the past 15 years and employs 250 people.
Under Gimv's ownership, the group aims to strengthen its commercial presence and product range in what remains a fragmented market, according to a statement.
Company
Agrobiothers was founded in 1880 but operated under the name Girard & Cie until the 1960s. It is headquartered in Cuisery, France, but distributes its products to 20 counties. It makes pet and animal care accessories and distributes them to specialised retailers. It employs 250 people and has a turnover of €65m.
