Ardian sells Groupe Bio7 to trade
Ardian has sold its minority stake in France-based Groupe Bio7 to private-equity-backed French pathology specialist Cerba HealthCare.
Founded in 1967, Cerba is a French pharmaceutical group active in the field of clinical pathology. The group has been owned since January 2017 by Partners Group and Canadian pension fund PSP Investments. Cerba was previously owned by PAI Partners.
Ardian acquired a minority stake in the Bio7 group from Chequers Capital in June 2014. At the time of the buyout, Bio7 expected net revenues in excess of €55m. Chequers first acquired a stake in the group alongside the founders and the management team in 2009.
Company
Founded in 1991, Bio7 is a clinical pathology group headquartered in Lisses. With around 70 laboratories, the group has a strong presence in the Île-de-France region. Since 2016, Bio7 has extended its presence across the rest of France, notably in the Indre-et-Loire and Oise regions.
Bio7 has a workforce of around 500 and is expected to generate pro forma revenue in excess of €110m in 2018.
