Andera buys Skill & You in SBO
Andera Partners has bought a majority stake in France-based distance learning specialist Skill & You, investing alongside directors Eric Petco and Sonia Levy-Odier.
The transaction sees previous backers 21 Centrale Partners, Access Capital Partners, Jolt Capital and Capital Transmission, as well as corporate Alma Learning Group, exit the investment.
The GP used its Winch Capital 4 vehicle for the transaction. Launched in December 2017, the mid-cap-focused vehicle recently held a first close on €360m. The Skill & You investment is the vehicle's first transaction.
LGT European Capital provided a unitranche package to support the transaction.
Previous funding
Acto Mezzanine and 21 Centrale first backed the business in 2011.
In 2016, a syndicate of investors comprising 21 Centrale, Access Capital and Jolt acquired a majority stake in Skill & You, while Acto exited the investment. The deal was valued €21m.
Company
Founded in 2003 and based in Paris, Skill & You offers around 200 distance learning courses in various fields such as cooking, childcare, mechanics or aesthetics. The company is formerly known as Forma-Dis. Skill & You is expecting to generate a €70m turnover in 2018.
