
Ekkio buys Calicéo
Ekkio Capital has bought a majority stake in Calicéo, a French operator of hydrotherapy centres, investing alongside management.
The GP is familiar with the tourism and entertainment sector, having backed French businesses ParisCityVision, Zoo Safari de Thoiry and HealthCity. Ekkio Capital is investing alongside Marc Léonard, the new CEO of Calicéo and Sandrine Gleize, the company's current operations director.
As a result of the transaction, the founding Ponteins family has sold its stake in the company.
Senior debt for the transaction was provided by LCL and Crédit Agricole Aquitaine and mezzanine debt by Indigo.

Founded in 1996 by the Ponteins family, Calicéo operates six centres offering spas, Jacuzzis, hammams and sauna facilities. The business operates centres in Toulouse, Perpignan, Pau, Lyon, Nantes and Bordeaux, generating a €17m turnover. The business is headquartered in Dax.
