
BPI France, Latour buy Plastic Omnium Environment
BPI France and Latour have carved out the subsidiary Plastic Omnium Environment of France-based Compagnie Plastic Omnium.
Latour is currently investing via its Latour Capital II vehicle, which closed on €306m in 2015. The fund invests in businesses valued in the €50-300m region, providing equity tickets in the €15-45m range, securing both minority and majority stakes.
Founded in 1946 and based in Levallois-Perret, Compagnie Plastic Omnium is a supplier to the automotive industry, as well as a containerisation and waste management specialist. Employing 33,000 people, the group generates sales of €8bn.
Company
The environmental services division of the business specialises in the containerisation of waste. Operating six plants in France, Germany and Spain, an R&D center, a customer service centre and a network of agencies and service desks, the business generates annual revenues of around €330m.
The waste management products provided by the division include wheeled bins for household waste, collection banks, composters, and underground and semi-underground containers. Plastic Omnium Environment employs 1,800 people across 12 countries.
