InnovaFonds backs SPC Group's MBO
InnovaFonds has acquired a minority stake in the management buyout of France-based medical devices manufacturer SPC Group.
InnovaFonds used its Partenaire Croissance I vehicle to fund the transaction, which specifically backs companies based in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region.
The management team, led by new president Frederic Roques, acquired a majority stake, while a former director and several other unidentified shareholders exited their investments, according to French publication Capital Finance.
The backing by InnovaFonds will allow SPC to invest in product development and expand internationally.
InnovaFonds invests in growth capital and buyout transactions, providing equity tickets of up to €20m for minority or majority stakes.
