Eurazeo buys Efeso Consulting from Argos Wityu for €56m
Eurazeo has acquired a 70% stake in Efeso Consulting, a France-based business strategy and operations consultancy, from Argos Wityu in a €56m transaction.
Under its new owners, Efeso will undertake an acquisitive growth strategy and invest in its digital platforms.
Efeso's Lucca Lecchi and Bruno Machiels will become co-CEOs of the business following the deal.
The company's outgoing CEO, Filippo Mantegazza – who founded Efeso in 1980 – will continue to work at Efeso as a member of the supervisory board.
Under Argos's ownership, Efeso completed seven acquisitions, expanding its footprint in Italy, the Netherlands, Egypt, India, Belgium and Ireland.
Previous funding
Argos Wityu backed the 2010 management buyout of Solving Efeso (then listed on Euronext Paris) before rebranding it as Efeso Consulting.
Company
Paris-based Efeso provides advisory services relating to business strategy, operations and transition management. The business serves a number of sectors, including the chemicals, food, beverages, cosmetics, aerospace, defence, oil, gas and retail industries.
The existing group was created through the merger of Solving (France) and Efeso (Italy) in 2007. Efeso was founded in 1980.
Efeso generated €71m in revenues in 2017. It employs 400 consultants across 26 countries, and more than 80% of its 2017 turnover was accounted for by international sales.
