IDI buys Institut de Formation à la Sophrologie
Paris Euronext-listed private equity house IDI has acquired a majority stake in France-based sophrology training institute, Institut de Formation à la Sophrologie (IFS), investing alongside management.
Founder and president Catherine Aliotta and director Sébastien Aliotta have retained a stake in IFS.
The GP plans to pursue a build-up strategy for the firm, Unquote understands. It will also support IFS's organic growth, expanding the range of training courses, according to a statement.
Debt for the transaction was provided by Societe Generale, Unquote has learned.
IDI recently invested €21m in Freeland, a provider of support services for freelance workers.
Company
IFS was founded in 2003 by Catherine Aliotta, who was subsequently joined by her husband Sébastien in 2008. The company is dedicated to professional training in sophrology, a relaxation therapy. The centre offers training and specialised courses.
The business runs nine training centres in France (Paris, Bordeaux, Lille, Lyon, Marseille, Nantes, Nice, Strasbourg and Toulouse) and has trained 6,000 professionals since its creation.
