Intuitis acquires Laboratoires Humeau
Private equity firm Intuitis has acquired a majority stake in France-based Laboratoires Humeau, the French distributor of equipment and materials for biology laboratories.
The GP has invested alongside new managing director Jean-Christophe Toux, according to an announcement from the law firm Lamartine Conseil, which advised the buyer. Intuitis typically acquires majority stakes in French SMEs valued around €5-10m.
Humeau was owned by Dominique Gelot, who is retiring.
Company
With origins dating back to 1938, Humeau originally produced ingredients used by the dairy industry.
Today the company is a distributor of equipment and materials for biology laboratories and serves all industries managing quality control checks and laboratory analysis. It exports its products to around 70 countries.
The company serves businesses performing quality analysis and control, and research.
Based in La Chapelle sur Erdre, the group generated revenues of €21m in 2018.
