Seventure sells Chronotruck to trade
French venture capital investor Seventure Partners has sold its stake in Chronotruck, a Paris-based provider of digital freight transport services, to French logistics firm Gefco.
The acquisition supports Gefco's strategy of using new technologies to enhance the customer experience and offer digitalised services to clients. Chronotruck will remain an independent entity and brand within Gefco.
Founded in 1949 and based in Courbevoie, Gefco manages and optimises the logistics chain for its industrial customers, managing 80 hubs and 65 logistics platforms worldwide.
Previous funding
Seventure led a €3.5m series-A funding round for Chronotruck in 2017, alongside BPI France and other investors, according to Unquote Data. Seventure invested €2m in the funding round and BPI France provided a loan of €500,000.
Seventure invested in the business via its €56m Digital Opportunities Fund, which backs mostly French and German companies operating in the field of digital technologies.
Company
Founded in 2016, Chronotruck provides an online and mobile B2B platform that aims to reduce empty journeys for carriers and enables shippers to order shipments.
The digital platform offers businesses access to nearby carriers and digitalised services such as an instant quotation system, geotracking, proof of delivery and e-invoicing. For carriers, the startup optimises flows by taking nearby loads to ensure trucks can run at full capacity. Chronotruck claims to serve 9,000 customers.
