
Younan Company buys Chateau La Garelle
US-based luxury goods investor The Younan Company has acquired the Chateau La Garelle vineyard in the Bordeaux region of France.
The vineyard will be renamed Chateau Zaya. The acquisition is an addition to the vineyard portfolio of the GP, which includes Chateau la Croix Younan.
This deal marks Younan's second acquisition in Bordeaux. The California-based private equity firm, founded in 2015, has around $1.2bn in assets under management.
The business was acquired by Jean-Luc Marette in 1993 and then taken over by the Billon family in 2001, according to a sector specialist website.

Chateau La Garelle manages a 23-acre vineyard, where red bordeaux is made with merlot, cabernet sauvignon and cabernet franc grapes. The company is based in Saint-Émilion.
