CM-CIC Council has sold France-based air conditioning and heating equipment Fouchard to the Fayat group.
CM-CIC Investissement backed Fouchard in 2005, purchasing a 40% stake in a minority buyout. The previous owner reduced their stake from 70% to 40%, with the firm's management taking a 20% share. Twelve years later, CM-CIC increased stake in Fouchard, providing a further €1.5m to the business in a buy-in management buyout deal.
Founded in 1957 and based in Libourne, Fayat is organised around several activities, the main ones being the construction and maintenance of road equipment (37% of turnover), public works (24%), building (17%), energy services (9%) and metal construction (8%). The business generates a €4.4bn turnover.
Company
Founded in 1947, Fouchard develops, installs and maintains air conditioning and heating equipment. The company's speciality is air treatment in hospitals. Based in Coutances, the business currently generates a turnover of €40m and operates six agencies in Normandie.
