
RedBird Capital acquires Toulouse Football Club
US-based private equity firm Redbird Capital Partners has acquired an 85% stake in Toulouse Football Club. The club owner Olivier Sadran will retain the remaining 15%.
Sadran steps down from his current role as president, but will remain an active member of the board of directors. He will be replaced by Damien Comolli as president of Toulouse FC.
The football club was in exclusive sale talks with RedBird, according to Europress.
Gerry Cardinale, founder and managing partner of RedBird, said: "We are committed to building a sustainable, long-term foundation for the club's success by enhancing its on-field sporting performance, business operations and contributions to its community."
The GP has already invested in professional sport in the US, including the New York Yankees, the NFL, the MLB, MLS, and the WNBA.
