NCI acquires Sopano majority stake
NCI Gestion has acquired a majority stake in adhesive manufacturer Sopano.
The firm is investing from RD4; the fund closed on €86m in January 2017 and can invest up to €10m per transaction to acquire both majority and minority stakes in French companies across the Normandy region with turnover above €4m. This is the final portfolio company for the fund, which has made 23 investments to date.
The company's management team is led by Laurent Charbonneau, who has reinvested in the business alongside NCI. The current shareholders have fully exited.
Following the transaction, Sopano will aim to diversify its customer base towards industrial clients.
Providing financing for the deal were Banque Populaire Du Nord, CIC Nord-Ouest, Caisse d'Epargne et de Prévoyance Normandie and Caisse Régionale de Crédit Agricole Mutuel de Normandie-Seine.
