
Carlyle injects €60m into Inova
Carlyle has invested €60m in Inova, a French software provider for the biopharmaceuticals industry, in exchange for a majority stake.
The GP invested via Carlyle Europe Technology Partners IV, a €1.4bn fund that invests in technology-focused opportunities in Europe and the US.
Carlyle said in a statement that it would aim to accelerate Inova's international expansion – including strengthening its presence in China and the US – invest in the company's product suite, and support strategic acquisitions.
Existing backer NextStage AM will reinvest in the business as part of the transaction. NextStage and BPI France injected €6m into the business in 2018, according to Unquote Data – NextStage invested €4.5m as a part of the deal.

Founded in 2010, Inova develops a sofware-as-a-service partnering platform that facilitates collaborations between pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies.
Inova's flagship product, Inova Enterprise, serves as a collaborative tool used to manage all processes related to outsourced innovation to laboratories and biotechs, enabling customers to source leads, execute transactions, and manage alliances and virtual events.
It has offices in Lyon, New York, Denver and Tokyo, and employs 50 people.
