Cathay to buy Smart AdServer for €37m
Sino-French firm Cathay Capital Private Equity is to wholly acquire Smart AdServer, a French advertising management platform, from the aufeminin group for €37m.
Smart AdServer's management team has also taken part in the transaction.
The acquisition is to be made via the Cathay Capital II and Sino-French SME Fund vehicles. The former closed on €187m in 2012, having launched in July 2011, while the latter is a €150m vehicle.
Cathay's growth plans for Smart AdServer include bolstering its market position in the US – possibly by opening a west coast office to complement its existing New York base.
The company would then begin to focus on further developing its operations in Asia.
