CapDecisif holds €36m first close for latest fund
French venture player CapDecisif Management has held a first close for its latest seed vehicle, CapDecisif 3, on €36m.
The vehicle is aiming to raise €50m overall. Jasmin Capital is acting as the fund's placement agent. Stephenson Harwood and Scotto & Associés were retained as legal advisers.
Founded in 2001, CapDecisif will be managing around €90m across five funds following the first close. Its previous FCPR, CapDecisif 2, closed on €25m.
Investors
Commitments have so far come from French institutional investors. State-backed fund Fonds National d'Amorçage is believed to have contributed €17m towards the first close.
Investments
CapDecisif 3 will be investing €1.5-6m in start-ups primarily based in Ile-de-France. It is aiming to complete around 15 deals overall. Sectors targeted include information and communication technology, software, media, electronics, healthcare, biotechnology and energy, as well as environment and engineering science.
The fund is in the process of completing its first investment in a biotechnology start-up.
People
The CapDecisif team is led by chairman Jérôme Snollaerts, CEO Olivier Dubuisson and life sciences partner Catherine Boule.
