Pragma Capital exits Furnotel
Pragma Capital has sold French B2B kitchen equipment provider Furnotel to the Cottard-Orset family.
The Cottard-Orset family already held a minority stake in the business, which it acquired in 2011. That year, Pragma bought a majority stake in Furnotel alongside the family, investing via its Pragma II fund. LCL, Societe Generale and BNP Paribas arranged financing for the acquisition.
Furnotel has since put in place an enterprise resource planning solution, bolstered its finance and operational teams, and developed its export activity.
Company
Founded in 1972, Furnotel specialises in the distribution of professional kitchen equipment used in hotels and restaurants. It mainly distributes machinery used for cooking, cleaning and refrigeration. Based in Morangis, the firm generated sales of €52m at the time of the 2011 buyout – a turnover understood to be on par with that generated at the time of the 2015 exit.
People
Jean-Pierre Créange, Christophe Ramoisy, Denis Catz and Jérôme Pinart worked on the original deal for Pragma.
