Mobiles Republic raises $6m series-B round
French mobile news app producer Mobiles Republic has raised $6m in a round led by Intel Capital with co-investment from existing backers Creathor Venture and XAnge Private Equity.
The funding will support the firm's product development, expansion in the US and its global sales and marketing strategy.
Mobiles Republic CEO Gilles Raymond said in a press conference: "This was the fastest fundraising I have ever done. Our existing French backer said he has never done an investment that is so fast between kick off and closing."
Previous funding
Creathor Venture provided the company's first institutional funding package in 2009 and joined XAnge Private Equity in a second financing round totalling €2.5m in 2012. XAnge contributed €1m to the round via its LBPI9 and LBPI12 FCPI funds.

Headquartered in Bordeaux and founded in 2008, Mobiles Republic is a personal mobile media company. The firm offers news on the go, which is delivered to consumers via a mobile app.
Mobiles Republic partners with more than 800 news outlets including the Huffington Post, the Financial Times and The Guardian. The firm has additional offices in Beijing and San Francisco.
