
Omnes et al. in funding round for SeniorAdom
Omnes Capital, 123Venture, SEB Alliance and AG2R La Mondiale have come together for a funding round for French medical teleassistance service SeniorAdom.
SEB Alliance is a VC-focused investment fund set up by appliances multinational SEB Group. The €30m vehicle prioritises companies providing home care services for the elderly, among other sectors.
Meanwhile, AG2R La Mondiale is an insurance group offering retirement- and healthcare-related services to individuals and corporates.
Speaking to unquote", a source close to the transaction explained the goal was to bring two institutional investors that could produce a large ticket together with a duo of industry players that had solid market knowledge.
According to the same source, Omnes was approached by SeniorAdom's management team, led by Thierry Roussel. Having co-founded SeniorAdom in 2012, Roussel was a prior acquaintance of Omnes as one of the founders of power provider Direct Energie, which the VC backed via a series of investments between 2005-2014.
The funding round comes two years after SeniorAdom began developing its lead product, an alert system that automatically reports any fall or health emergencies at home without the need for an internet connection.
Designed in 2013, the device was first tested in 2014, with the support of seed financing from BPI France and Kima Ventures. Having officially launched the product in January 2015, SeniorAdom claims it has secured hundreds of patients since then.
With plans to seal partnerships with unbranded system developers before year-end, the business is eyeing international expansion from 2016 onwards.

Created in November 2012, SeniorAdom develops remote assistance technology detecting falls and other health-related events among dependent and elderly users. The company's system does not require an internet connection and uses instead a GSM cell card, which sends out an automatic e-mail or text to the carer. Its headquarters are located in Montrouge.

The deal was led by principal François-Xavier Dedde on behalf of Omnes, while 123Venture's work was coordinated by partner Marc Guittet. SEB Alliance was represented by investment manager François-Xavier Meyer and AG2R La Mondiale by head of unlisted investments Cyrille Roustang. Vincent Kraus, Thierry Roussel and Christophe Gombault co-founded SeniorAdom.
