FSI Régions leads €2m funding round for Utilis
FSI Régions has led a €2m funding round for French temporary shelter manufacturer Utilis, injecting €1.6m into the company.
FSI Régions invested through the vehicle Avenir Entreprises Développement, which closed on €140m in 2008. The remaining €400,000 for Utilis was provided by the regional fund ILP, managed by CDC Entreprises.
The company intends to expand its sales channels abroad, bolster its staff numbers and strengthen its capital base with the fresh funding.
Company
Founded in 1997 and based in Moselle, Utilis specialises in the design and manufacture of emergency tents and modular shelters for use across healthcare, humanitarian aid and military services. The company has developed a new tent product that can be erected in five minutes and does not require any tools for assembly.
Utilis reported a €20m turnover in 2012 and is present in the US, South America, Portugal, Africa and Japan.
