Alven Capital III holds EUR100m final close

Venture capital firm Alven Capital has held the final close of its third-generation FCPR fund after around eight months of fundraising. The Calyon-run process has reached the hard-cap of EUR100m. Proskauer Rose provided legal advice.

Investors

Alven Capital III, which is Alven's first fund to have attracted foreign LPs, has received commitments from 80% of France's funds-of-funds market, as well as from other French and European institutional investors such as CDC Entreprises and also a UK pension fund.

Investments

Alven Capital III will complete approximately 20 deals, predominantly investing in France with initial investments focusing on low-technology companies that have recently started or are about to begin commercialisation. About a third of the investments will be made in media or internet companies, another third in innovative services, with the remainder being earmarked for vertical business applications.
