Paris-based Critero specialises in internet services software and provides real-time, personalised recommendations to users of eCommerce websites as well as advertising platforms which are delivered via plug-and-play widgets. The past year has seen 4,000 websites adopt the technology generating around 15 million recommendations to customers. Having already developed and launched its product in September 2007, Critero plans to use the funding to expand its activities to the European market notably the UK, Germany, Italy and Spain. The company will not restrict itself to Europe, but faces competition in the US from Loomia, Aggregate Knowledge and Choice Stream. The company was founded in 2005 and employs 22 people.
