Mapping (France) - Dec 2007

CIC Finance led a €1.5m minority stake in Mapping via its regional affiliate CIC Investissement Nord, providing €1.3m of the total investment. FIP Select Nord, under the direction of CM-CIC Capital Privé, provided the remaining €0.2m. The senior debt of €3.5m was leveraged equally by BSD, Crédit Agricole and Société Générale. CIC Finance gained around a 20% share of Mapping, while the management retains overall control. The deal took about five months to complete.

Company

Mapping, based at La Madeleine in Paris, was founded in 1988 by José Derycke. Mapping’s software Mapping Suite provides a flexible design and print system which works with multiple sources and is compatible with many server platforms. IBM is a commercial partner implementing Mapping Suite in its software. Mapping boasts 5,000 other clients worldwide and generated €5.5m turnover during 2006/07 of which €1.3m was profit, a 48% rise on the previous year. Mapping employs around 40 people.
