Index invests in TheFamily
Index Ventures has backed TheFamily, a Paris-based start-up accelerator.
The fresh funding will be used to further develop TheFamily's program for French start-ups. The company also plans on acquiring a castle in Normandy to offer accommodation to its enlisted entrepreneurs. TheFamily currently operates out of a house in Paris.
Company
Founded in January this year and officially operating as an accelerator from March onwards, TheFamily provides an accelerator programme to French start-ups in exchange for a 1% equity stake. The accelerator also provides a legal pack to its start-ups, as well as a tools and B2B sales pack.
TheFamily hopes to partner with 100 start-ups per year and has created a consortium of venture capital investors that will eventually be introduced to the start-ups in TheFamily.
TheFamily is based in Paris and currently employs eight staff.
